We often see the following themes on social media. "I did this great thing." "I am so kind, beautiful, smart, and perfect."
Large Thumbs Up is promoting the idea of sharing the goodness, kindness, and worth of others by giving them a Large Thumbs Up. You can just reward them by sharing an actual "thumbs up", or you could give them a "Large Thumbs Up" sticker, or read a positive message from one of our posters. When you give a person a thumbs up say to them, "Here is a large thumbs up for you." That will help to embed the idea of "Large Thumbs Up" in the minds of others.
Promoting others in social media and in the workplace with a "Large Thumbs Up" is a way to publically acknowledge others and put attention on them.
This idea first occurred to me 20 years ago when I was teaching in a middle school. I wanted to create a way to reinforce the times students were well-behaved and focused. I created "thumbs up" stickers and gave them out to more and more students each day. It did not take long for other teachers to ask for some stickers. Teachers are always looking for ways to reign in puberty-aged humans!
We all know the effect of moving the light onto others. We see it in their smile, their nod, and in the others who join in our effort to make a better world by acknowledging others.
